More C# Courseware Updated to Visual Studio 2017
August 1, 2017.
We are pleased to announce today the update of three more C# programming courses
to Microsoft's Visual Studio 2017:
A noteworthy feature of Visual Studio 2017 is the greatly expanded capability of the free Communnity version.
Now in a single free product there is an integrated development environment for multiple languages and for both
desktop and Web applications. All of our courses that we have updated so far or will soon release will work on the free platform.
Course 4106 explains the methodology of test-driven development and the use of a unit test framework
in supporting test-driven development on Microsoft .NET. It covers use of Microsoft's test framework
that is integrated into Visual Studio.
Course 4112 is a thorough introduction to the classical .NET Framework. Object Innovations provides
a separate course, 4012, on the new modular, cross-platform .NET Core (not yet updated to Visual Studio 2017).
Course 4135 is a thorough introduction to Microsoft's sophisticated WPF technology for Windows desktop
application development using the classical .NET Framework. Relying on Microsoft DirectX graphics technology,
WPF is not supported by the cross-platform .NET Core.
The database examples of the updated .NET Framework and WPF courses use the LocalDB database engine of
SQL Server 2016, which is integrated into Visual Studio 2017.
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
