New and Revised Courses in Test-Driven Development

December 24, 2009. Object Innovations today released revised courses for C# developers on testing using NUnit:

• 4105, Test-Driven Development Using NUnit and C#, Rev. 2.0 (1 day, using Visual Studio 2008)
• 4105, Test-Driven Development Using NUnit and C#, Rev. 4.0 (1 day, using Visual Studio 2010)

Also, a parallel course using Visual Basic is now available (previously the course had only been available in C#):

• 4205, Test-Driven Development Using NUnit and Visual Basic, Rev. 2.0 (1 day, using Visual Studio 2008)

An emerging software engineering paradigm is test-driven development, where tests are written early and testing is performed continuously during the development process. Problems are discovered early and corrected when they are found.

The courses explain the methodology of test-driven development and the use of the open source framework NUnit in supporting test-driven development on Microsoft .NET. There is enough material, including five labs, to run the course over a somewhat longer duration if desired. The instructor guide contains suggestions for pacing.

Object Innovations also offers courseware on unit testing using Microsoft MSTest, which is integrated into Visual Studio Professional Edition and higher.
