Updated .NET Courseware on ASP.NET AJAX
August 12, 2008.
Object Innovations has updated its ASP.NET AJAX courseware to .NET 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008:
AJAX, or "Asynchronous JavaScript and XML," is an important new technology, part of what
is sometimes called "Web 2.0." It is a standards-based approach to building rich Internet application
that offer users a highly interactive user interface experience. Microsoft's ASP.NET AJAX, used
in conjunction with Visual Studio 2008, provides a highly productive environment for creating
AJAX applications.
The courseware introduces AJAX and covers foundational topics, such as JavaScript, DTHML, the
Document Object Model (DOM) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The course then covers in depth
the various components of Microsoft's AJAX support, including ASP.NET AJAX Extensions, the AJAX
Client Library, and the AJAX Control Toolkit.
There are a great many example programs and many labs. The course includes a
case study, the implementation of an interactive website for the Acme Book Club.
The previous version of the courses running on Visual Studio 2005 remains available,
but the new courseware is recommended. ASP.NET AJAX is integrated into .NET 3.5
and Visual Studio 2008, so a separate download of ASP.NET AJAX Extensions is no longer required.
Shipments of the revised courseware begin immediately.
