Object Innovations Announces MCTS .NET 2.0 Certification Curriculum
September 7, 2006.
Object Innovations today announced a ten-course curriculum of .NET courses in C# designed
to help students preparing for Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
certification in .NET 2.0. Eight courses are available immediately, and the remaining
two are coming soon.
For .NET 2.0 Microsoft has revamped
MCTS certification requirements.
Object Innovations offers courses for three of the certification tracks:
- Technology Specialist: .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications
- Technology Specialist: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications
- Technology Specialist: .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications
The diagram shows the sequence of Object Innovations courses for the
Windows Applications certification. The other course sequences are similar.
The new courses are based on Object Innovations’ core .NET curriculum, which
consists of non-overlapping courses covering in depth important topics in .NET technology.
There are tracks in C# and Visual Basic, and there is training in the essentials of C++/CLI.
These courses emphasize the skills needed for successful software development using .NET.
The courses have extensive example programs and lab exercises, including a number of case
studies.
The new MCTS courses use the C# language. Like their core curriculum counterparts,
the primary goal of the MCTS courses is to teach the core skills needed for serious
application development using Microsoft .NET. They do not try to "teach to the test."
But the selection of topics is chosen to align with the test, making these course
useful to take as part of preparation for the exams. The courses use .NET 2.0
and Visual Studio 2005 throughout.
Besides the core and MCTS curricula, Object Innovations' .NET course offerings
include other useful courses, such as a recently announced course on NUnit, courses
on new features in .NET 2.0, and other topics. The entire .NET curriculum is described in our
.NET Curriculum Guide.
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
