New .NET 2.0 Courseware Using C++/CLI
August 11, 2006.
Object Innovations today released a new three-day course on programming the
.NET Framework using C++/CLI. The new course runs on .NET 2.0
and Visual Studio 2005. C++/CLI is an extension to ANSI/ISO standard C++ that targets
the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI), which in turn is an ECMA/ISO standard for
the Common Language Runtime (CLR) of Microsoft .NET. C++/CLI is new with .NET 2.0
and is a significant improvement over the older C++ with Managed Extensions.
The new course is:
This course is designed to provide a sound introduction to the .NET Framework
for programmers who already know the C++/CLI language and the fundamentals of Windows Forms.
The course is fully comparable to the C# and Visual Basic .NET Framework courses
from Object Innovations. It follows in natural sequence to the previously released
two-day course
431, C++/CLI Essentials.

The course can be run on the new free version of Visual Studio 2005,
Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition,
which is ideal for instructional purposes. This Express Edition is a free download from
Microsoft.
This new C++/CLI course is part of Object Innovations’
comprehensive .NET curriculum.
Parallel tracks are offered in C# and Visual Basic, and Object Innovations will also offer
selected .NET courses in the C++/CLI language.
With the introduction of this new course, Object Innovations is delisting the older course
434, .NET Architecture and Programming Using Visual C++. The older course used C++ with Managed Extensions
and runs on .NET 1.0/1.1. The old course can still be obtained from Object Innovations for those
who require courseware on the older .NET platform.
Object Innovations also has a curriculum of courses in standard C++ and has just completed
a revision of its C++ for Non-C Programmers course to fully conform to ANSI/ISO standard C++ and to ensure that
the course will run smoothly on multiple platforms, including Unix and Linux as well as
Windows. The revised five-day course is:
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
