March 24, 2006.
Nearing completion of a comprehensive update of its .NET core curriculum to .NET 2.0,
Object Innovations today released
revised four-day courses in ASP.NET Web services. The courses
are now current to .NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005.
The updated four-day courses are:
The content throughout the courses
has been thoroughly updated to use Visual Studio 2005 and .NET 2.0. New Web services
features are discussed in the context of where they occur. These include conformance checking for
the Basic Profile 1.1 from the Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I), support for
SOAP 1.2, a new simple event model for calling Web services asynchronously, and more.
The courses include two new chapters. A chapter on data access using Web services replaces the
chapter on UDDI, which is less important than other aspects of Web services technology. The chapter
on Web services security now
covers Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 3.0, which provides implementation of advanced Web
service protocols such as WS-Security, WS-Trust and WS-Policy
The previous courses on Web services in .NET 1.1 remain available.
The Web services courses are part of Object Innovations’
comprehensive .NET curriculum.
Parallel tracks are offered in C# and Visual Basic. The diagram shows the core courses in
.NET programming using C#.

Web services rely heavily on XML. Object Innovations also has an extensive
XML curriculum.
Courses are offered in XML fundamentals, XML Schema, XSLFO, and XSLT. Programming courses using
XML are offered using Java as well as C# and Visual Basic. A five-day course in
XML Web services using Java is also available.
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
