Object Innovations Begins Release of .NET 2.0 Courseware
June 2, 2005.
Object Innovations today released the first two .NET courses updated to the forthcoming .NET 2.0
and Visual Studio 2005. Codenamed "Whidbey," this is a major update to Microsoft .NET,
originally introduced in 2002.
Object Innovations has been deeply involved with Microsoft .NET from its beginning,
publishing a major book series
on .NET with Prentice Hall and offering a comprehensive
curriculum of .NET courseware.
The first two courses to be updated to .NET 2.0 are:
Each course adds a chapter covering the new features introduced to the language in .NET 2.0.
The courses are designed so that they can be run using either Visual Studio .NET 2003 (.NET 1.1)
or Visual Studio 2005.
A noteworthy feature of .NET 2.0 is the introduction of low-cost versions of Visual Studio,
Visual C# 2005 Express Edition and Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition, which are ideal
for instructional purposes. All the programming examples in both courses have been tested
in the new development environment.
Object Innovations is revising its entire .NET curriculum to .NET 2.0 and expects
all of its courses to be fully updated to .NET 2.0 by the time Microsoft officially
releases Visual Studio 2005 later this year.
Shipments of the new courseware begin immediately.
