Updated Linux courses from Object Innovations

Object Innovations today released updated versions of courses in Linux Fundamentals
and Linux System Administration.
The four-day course
135, Fundamentals of Linux,
provides many new features, fixes all known errors, and adds several labs. New material includes:
- A chapter on X Windows and Desktops, including KDE and Gnome
- Expanded network utilities, adding ssh, scp, smbclient, and Samba server overview
- An overview chapter on text editors, including pico, nedit, and emacs
- Updated coverage of compressing files
- Coverage of working with MS-DOS disks.
The four-day course
136, Linux System Administration, has been thoroughly
updated. New topics include Sharing File systems and an appendix on Linux Installation.
Chapters on File Systems and Disk Management, Networking, Security and Server Configuration and
Management were almost completely rewritten.
Besides updating courses on Linux itself, Object Innovations is testing important courses
on software development to ensure they will run well in a Linux environment. Watch for an
upcoming announcement on our updated core XML curriculum, for which all courses
will run effectively on both Linux and Windows.
