New Revision of Object Innovations' Java Course
April 12, 2004. Object Innovations announced today a significant
update of its flagship Java programming course.
Course 103 teaches Java to programmers migrating from other languages such as
C, C++, and Visual Basic.
Because students come to Java from such diverse backgrounds,
the new release of "Java Programming" is designed for maximum flexibility.
Students with good experience in languages such as C and C++ are likely to pick up
Java most quickly, and this course is appropriate for those students.
But it also offers good depth on certain topics that will be new to many -- object-oriented concepts
especially. This makes it approachable for students whose backgrounds are in languages less
like Java, such as COBOL and PL/1, or those who work with "4GL" tools such as FoxPro or PowerBuilder.
Plenty of optional labs make sure that students are able to get Java programming skills
"into their hands" before moving on to Java Web applications, J2EE, Java/XML or
other more advanced Java studies.
Shipments of the new course begin immediately. The previous version of the course will
be supported for a limited time to allow a smooth migration to version 1.4.
Also, watch for upcoming releases in the Java area,
including an introductory Java course especially for less experienced programmers,
and updates to existing courses to track the upcoming leap to Java 1.5.
