Narayana Rao Surapaneni        
Narayana Rao Surapaneni, Microsoft.NET MVP, a senior software engineer working for Patni Computer Systems Limited (Patni), India (www.patni.com), is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer and Sun Certified Java Professional. He has received international acclaim for authoring dozens of industry papers on .NET and other Microsoft technologies for leading web sites and magazines.
He also holds other certifications in ASP, e-commerce concepts, Visual Interdev, and so on; and he has delivered many public seminars on the .NET framework, C#, and ASP.NET at various places in India.

Surapaneni leads the .NET Technology & Web Services Group at Patni, which deals with various aspects of .NET & Web-Services technology. He further heads Publication cell at Patni.

He is currently authoring two books on .NET for a leading publication. Apart from this he is also participating as a columnist and on the panel of contributors for IT Magazine.

He has worked on a number of development projects involving liaison with international clients, with primary tasks including architecting, object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), coding, development, and debugging. His current development activities include identifying, designing, deploying, and drafting various viable models of Web-Services, components, and products using .NET & Web-Services technology. He is also working on various Interoperability and Migration options available between Java & .NET.

Narayana leads the .NET Technology & Web Services group with his current organization, Patni Computer Systems Ltd, which helps increase awareness of the technology among Patni customers.

His immediate priorities include:
  • Building a strong Patni team for preparing business proposals on .NET technology

  • Exploring conversion/migration of existing projects supported by Patni to .NET

  • Sourcing strategic alliances on .NET

  • Forging long-term collaborations with third-party companies and releasing a series of Web Services/Components/Products in the area of .NET & Web Services Technology.
In addition to his many writing projects, Surapaneni has developed a teaching tool using C# and made an extensive study comparing C# with C++ and Java. He has prepared material on C# for various organizations, trained a number of students, and is actively involved in deploying C# applications on Apache Server. He has also worked with WINForms applications, the interoperability of .NET components with traditional components, writing web forms and Web Services, database programming using C# with ADO.NET, and writing ASP.NET applications using C#.
