Yevgeny Menaker
|
Yevgeny Menaker is a software engineer,
developer and author. His interest in
computers started when Pascal still ruled.
In 1998, he graduated with distinction
with his B.Sc. degree in Computer Sciences
and Statistics from Tel-Aviv University
of Israel. During the studies Yevgeny
worked at LaHIT ltd. developing
Computer Based Training and
voice-recognition based application.
Then, he joined the Israeli Defense Forces
and served as a software developer.
He was promoted to Internet Applications
team manager. Yevgeny's team developed
various Web and Windows applications
using COM/ATL/ASP/ASP.NET.

During the army service he also worked
in the bioinformatics group of Tel-Aviv
University. He developed C++(Linux)
and Web (Apache/JSP/Perl) applications
for analyzing proteins 3-D structure.
The knowledge of Perl Yevgeny acquired
working in the bioinformatics field
helped him in writing the
Programming Perl in the .NET Environment
book for Prentice Hall PTR together
with Michael Saltzman and
Robert J. Oberg.
As a consultant to Object Innovations,
Yevgeny ported their Java courseware
to Linux and tested the lab
examples for these courses.
Besides computers, Yevgeny's interests
include growing cactuses and
riding mountain bikes.
